The Ministry of Home Affairs in India has decided to allow General Duty (GD) Constable recruitment exams in 13 regional languages, apart from Hindi and English. This move is expected to benefit lakhs of students and increase the participation of local youths in the Central Reserved Police Forces (CAPFs). New languages include Tamil, Telugu, Odia, Urdu, and Punjabi, among others. The decision will come into effect from January 01, 2024.
